Ten rules for being human.

by Cherie Carter-Scott

1.You will receive a body. You may like it or hate it, but it’s yours to keep for the entire period.2.You will learn lessons. You are enrolled in a full-time informal school called, “life.”3.There are no mistakes, only lessons. Growth is a process of trial, error, and experimentation. The “failed” experiments are as much a part of the process as the experiments that ultimately “work.”4.Lessons are repeated until they are learned. A lesson will be presented to you in various forms until you have learned it. When you have learned it, you can go on to the next lesson.5.Learning lessons does not end. There’s no part of life that doesn’t contain its lessons. If you’re alive, that means there are still lessons to be learned.6.“There” is no better a place than “here.” When your “there” has become a “here”, you will simply obtain another “there” that will again look better than “here.”7.Other people are merely mirrors of you. You cannot love or hate something about another person unless it reflects to you something you love or hate about yourself.8.What you make of your life is up to you. You have all the tools and resources you need. What you do with them is up to you. The choice is yours.9.Your answers lie within you. The answers to life’s questions lie within you. All you need to do is look, listen, and trust.10.You will forget all this.

WHY?

 1. Is it good if a vacuum really sucks?

2. Why is the third hand on the watch called the second hand?

3. If a word is misspelled in the dictionary, how would we ever know?

4. If Webster wrote the first dictionary, where did he find the words?

5. Why do we say something is out of whack? What is a whack?

6. Why do “slow down” and “slow up” mean the same thing?

7. Why do “fat chance” and “slim chance” mean the same thing?

8. Why do “tug” boats push their barges?

9. Why do we sing “Take me out to the ball game” when we are already there?

10. Why are they called “stands” when they are made for sitting?

11. Why is it called “after dark” when it really is “after light”?

12. Doesn’t “expecting the unexpected” make the unexpected expected?

13. Why are a “wise man” and a “wise guy” opposites?

14. Why is “phonics” not spelled the way it sounds?

15. If work is so terrific, why do they have to pay you to do it?

16. If all the world is a stage, where is the audience sitting?

17. If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular?

18. If you are cross-eyed and have dyslexia, can you read all right?

19. Why is bra singular and panties plural?

20. Why do you press harder on the buttons of a remote control when you know the batteries are dead?

21. Why do we put suits in garment bags and garments in a suitcase?

22. How come abbreviated is such a long word?

23. Why do we wash bath towels? Aren’t we clean when we use them?

24. Why doesn’t glue stick to the inside of the bottle?

25. Why do they call it a TV set when you only have one?

26. Christmas - What other time of the year do you sit in front of a dead tree and eat candy out of your socks?

27. Why do we drive on a parkway and park on a driveway?

Hello tumblr.

I missed you. :)

I’m back.

I’ll use you again :)

Nothingness.

Maybe.

Maybe if I was any prettier, you’d see me for who I really am.

TODAY is 10/29/10

Today is my enlistment/enrollment day at school, So here’s what happened. I followed the procedure blah blah blah all that stuff. When it comes to the accounting office, i was being served by this BITCH. She’s totally rude and i was totally nice to her. In our country, we use the Peso currency to pay. $1.00 is equal to P43.22 I had to pay $3,600.00 for my tuition fee and $4,700.00 for my brother’s That’s a total of $7,900.00 right? so here’s what happened. I gave her $8000.00 She gave me $600.00 back and i thought isn’t it supposed to be a $100.00 change only? but i didn’t say it out loud. I had a feeling she was computing it wrong and all but i was also confused ‘cos she told me to come back tomorrow to get back my change of $40.00 I was like WOW!! she returned my $600.00 and i get $40.00 MORE?! haha I was thinking oh fine, be a bitch to me I GET MONEY. She gave me back my credit card and cash in a very rude way!! I stormed out of that room afterwards.

When I got home, I started computing. Me and my mom kept thinking was there a rebate? Cos she returned too much money!! $600.00’s equivalent to Pesos is P25,932.00 (That’s waay too much money) So we left it as it is. Cos HEY! It’s our gain and their loss! but my mom told me, let’s put this money aside cos obviously the school would contact me sooner or later, So we did.

……

After a while, my Phone was buzzing! It has 5 missed calls and then my phone rang again. Guess who it was?? YES. It’s that rude clerk at the accounting office at our school. She was like

Clerk: Hello?? helloo?? Is this Miss Janelle??

Me: YES. WHY?

Clerk: Do you remember me? I’m miss christine!! I was the one at the cashier earlier today! I served you remember?

Me: uhmmmmm… (in my head i was thinking OH! THE BITCH?!)

Clerk: The one you paid dollars to!

Me: Oh yeah Why what’s up.

Clerk: You underpaid miss, you paid me $7,400.00 instead of $8000.00

Me: I know that, i realized that when i got home, and I don’t owe you $600 bucks. I only owe you $500.00

Clerk: Oh! please wait! let me compute!

Me: Okay

Clerk: Oh that’s right! So can you please come back to school and pay?

Me:….(Mom in the background: NO! You’re not going back to school! Not until school starts again!!!)

Me: Can’t go there today, you have to wait until school starts

Clerk: Okay! sure sure! so you’ll pay the $500.00 ?

Me: Yes.

Clerk: THANK YOU SO MUCH!! AND I’M SORRY!! $500.00 IS EQUIVALENT TO MY 2 MONTH SALARY!!!!

Me: OKay, alright, you’re welcome, Gbye

*Hangs Up*

She was being a total bitch to me earlier and just later today she called me begging because the admin of our school is asking her to pay the amount cause it’s her fault.

there’s a lesson learned for the both of us. DON’T BE A BITCH. I admit, there are times that I’m a total bitch but i always make sure that i get the job right.

So I’m also Sorry to you Miss. >:)

Karma’s a bitch.
